Who says you need soil to grow plants?  We don’t!  Not when growing an air plant at least.  These quirky little plants are sweeping the nation and it’s easy to see why.  They can be grown in just about any space, come in various shades of colors, and the different textures are just too cool!

Need more reasons to love Air Plants? Here are just a few:

  • Easy to maintain, requiring very little water or care
  • Versatile, place them on windowsills, in terrariums, or on shelves
  • Do not require the use of soil or a pot to live
  • Available in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes

Have we peaked your interest yet?  Still wondering how these plants can survive in a home?  Well, let us explain. Air Plants literally take all the nutrients and water from the air and create energy in their leaves.  Yes, they are simply that easy and that amazing!

CARE TIPS: Every 1-2 weeks, soak your air plants in room temperature water. After soaking, gently shake off water. Let dry before placing them back in their holder.

Still not sure?  Ask your local Earl May expert to learn if these plants are right for you.

Why would tap water kill them?

Thank you for the question Brandy. Air plants need to be able to be dunked in water once a week or misted 1-2x per week…how you display them or use them is a personal preference.

How much can these be handled? Can they be placed in a glass tube as long as there is a hole in one end!?

Remember to only use distilled water to mist these or dip once a week in distilled water or rain water, tap water kills these plants
